Manage your organization
Add members, assign roles, and manage billing for your organization.
This guide shows you how to manage your organization's members, roles, and billing in Blue Guardrails.
Organizations are the top-level container in Blue Guardrails. They hold workspaces and members, and each organization has its own billing account. For an overview of the role system, see Roles and permissions.
Prerequisites
- A Blue Guardrails account
- An organization role of Admin or Super Admin for member management, or Billing Manager or Super Admin for billing
View organization members
- Click Settings in the sidebar.
- The Members tab shows all organization members with their name, email, role, and join date.
All organization members can view the member list.
Add members
Requires organization role: Admin or Super Admin
You can add one or multiple members at a time.
- Click Settings in the sidebar.
- On the Members tab, click Add Members.
- Enter the email addresses of the users you want to invite. Press Enter or comma after each address.
- Select a role for each member from the dropdown.
- Click Add to send the invitations.
The users must have Blue Guardrails accounts with those email addresses. New members appear in the members table immediately.
Change a member's role
Requires organization role: Admin or Super Admin
- Click Settings in the sidebar.
- Find the member in the Members tab.
- Click the role dropdown next to their name.
- Select the new role.
Role assignment follows a hierarchy: Admins can assign Admin, Billing Manager, Contributor, and Viewer roles. Only Super Admins can assign the Super Admin role. You cannot change the role of a member whose current role is above your assignment level.
Remove a member
Requires organization role: Admin or Super Admin
- Click Settings in the sidebar.
- Find the member in the Members tab.
- Click the delete button on their row.
- Confirm the removal in the dialog.
You cannot remove the last Super Admin from an organization. If you need to leave and you're the only Super Admin, assign another member to Super Admin first.
Manage billing
Requires organization role: Billing Manager or Super Admin
- Click Settings in the sidebar.
- Click the Billing tab.
- View your spend chart, current balance, and billing history.
Usage from all workspace members across the organization is charged to the organization's billing account.
